Part of downtown Boise is getting a makeover—the spot known as Freak Alley, to be exact, that runs from Eighth to Ninth streets between Bannock and Idaho. This last week, the exposed brick wall has been covered up by the original artwork of more than 40 local artists.
Beautifying downtown Boise isn’t difficult when you have the talent, desire and cooperation of those willing and able to make it happen. A reveal party is going down in the alley today from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. to celebrate the work, the artists and the organizers, as well as the businesses that donated supplies.
In addition to viewing original artwork from artists—some who are as young as 8 years old—local band Talk Math to Me
will play, dancers from the Heirloom Dance Studio will perform, a DJ will spin dance tunes and a booth with info about the mural project will be set up.
This is the second time a formerly not-so-pretty spot in downtown has been revamped. Check out the first incarnation—and last year's project—here.
