The Fox television network reaches deep into every demographic: NFL football, the World Series, American Idol, The Simpsons, House, Bones, and this fall the X Factor is expected to be prime time's newest hit. So practically anyone who watches broadcast television will need to know that Fox is moving down the dial in the Treasure Valley.
In a surprise announcement late Wednesday, the Journal Broadcast Group, which operates KNIN Channel 9 (the CW network) and KIVI Channel 6 (ABC), will take over the Fox affiliation in Southwest Idaho, moving Fox from its current spot on Channel 12 over to Channel 9. The change is expected in late August. No word yet on whether the CW network will move over to Channel 12.
