The Sleepy Seeds are a local band—by choice. Bassist Joey Corsentino and guitarist Marty Chase Martin started The Sleepy Seeds in Colorado as a two-man band in 2008, but relocated to Boise in 2009.
"We've always been big fans of the Boise music scene and bands from Boise," says Corsentino.
Soon after their arrival, they recruited Chad Keever from Spokane, Wash., to play the drums, and Boise native Will Gillett on guitar, rounding out the mellow aroma that their music exudes.
The Sleepy Seeds might be relatively new to Boise, but they aren't wasting any time expanding their fan base throughout the state.
"We want to play the little mountain towns in Idaho and see if we can get people into us up there to come to the Boise shows eventually," says Corsentino.
After a gig opening for Wye Oak at the Flying M Coffegarage, the band, with their lazy-Sunday-afternoon aura, gave us insight on their unique musical style, the unorthodox way their band came together and what's coming up next for The Sleepy Seeds.
