Works by graffiti artist Banksy have been brightening up or putting a blight on structures since the early '90s and are known worldwide for their style, message and cleanup costs.
Though his identity has been speculated at by numerous publications, he remains anonymous, not just because of the risk of prosecution but because the anonymity increases the impact made by his work. Everything from clouds painted on the separation wall between Israel and Palestine to policemen kissing on the streets of England hits harder because the message can stand alone from the artist.
Though it may not reveal his identity, tonight, you can catch a screening of the Academy Award-nominated documentary about his work, Exit Through the Gift Shop, along with a live graffiti art performance from locals Sector 17 during Robot Hand Aesthetic. The event starts at 5:30 p.m. at Studio J and is FREE.
