Alan Heathcock's Volt Gets Some New York Times Love

We here in Boise already knew that local writer Alan Heathcock's debut short story collection,Volt, was a big deal, and now it seems like the rest of the country does as well.

The New York Times Sunday Book Review praised Heathcock's collection of short stories, which was released earlier in March. Reviewer Donald Ray Pollock called the book "impressive," but hey, we already knew that.

Beyond writing, teaching at Boise State and throwing impressive book release parties, Heathcock was one of the judges for BW's 2010 Fiction 101 contest. Hopefully he's not too busy—or too famous—to judge again.
