What was a financial necessity for Andie then has turned into a cool, environmentally-friendly art form today, and there are some creative types doing it right here in Boise. Perhaps they have been inspired by that iconic '80s movie, or maybe they are just really imaginative. It could be that the thought of our cast-offs ending up sitting in landfills for years to come induces feeling of guilt and worry. Maybe it’s a combination of all of the above. Regardless, the participants of tonight’s Project Runway show at Twigs and Twist will get a chance to show off their own original designs cooked up from items once used for a different purpose.
“We are really excited to host our first Project Runway. It will give the many amazing artists and crafters in the local area a chance to share their creations and inspire other folks to create,” Twigs and Twist owner Gretel Care stated in a press release.
Artists will be walking the runway with their newly-created garments, accessories or home decor items made from of at least 75 percent recycled, reused or reconstructed objects.
The show starts at 7 p.m. and is FREE to attend.
