Boise may have its share of foodies but kitchen stores just can't catch a break in downtown.
Downtown store Pottery Gourmet announced today that it will close its doors, likely by the end of the month.
Owner Sandra Merritt told Boise Weekly this afternoon that the store's inventory is currently marked down 30 percent in a move to liquidate.
Known for its selection of vibrant Polish pottery, Pottery Gourmet opened in the BODO area in 2004. In the summer of 2008, Merritt moved to Bannock Street and shortly thereafter expanded the pottery collection to include kitchen supplies and a full-service kitchen for cooking classes.
Classes are currently canceled indefinitely and there's no word just yet whether someone else will take up the torch to teach amateur chefs how to deglaze a pan or seal a summer roll.
