Sometimes a movie becomes a victim of its own success, resonating so strongly with people and with popular consciousness that you probably know the story, how it ends and some key quotes without ever seeing it. So you don't bother watching it. And with each passing parody, reference and reboot, the idea of sitting down to watch something you feel like you've seen a thousand times seems more and more absurd.
But a film rarely reaches that status without merit and the references and imitations almost never measure up.
So today, why not take a chance on just such a film?
The Jimmy Stewart classic, It's a Wonderful Life has been redone and imitated endlessly. But that's because it's also a wonderful film. And just the thing to get in "the holiday spirit."
Today, you can catch special screenings of It's a Wonderful Life at The Egyptian Theatre, at noon, 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. Admission is a can/box/bag of unopened person or pet food to be donated to either the Idaho Food Bank, or Northwest Animal Companions or the Idaho Humane Society.
