The Flakes Are Falling, The Flakes Are Falling

Skiers and snowboarders have a sixth sense—something akin to Spiderman's spidey sense—and this weekend, they must have been all sorts of tingly.

An early season storm dropped some of the first snow of the season in Idaho's mountains, including a reported 11 inches on top of Bald Mountain in Sun Valley (although it's a safe bet that won't stick around too long).

Brundage Mountain in McCall is reporting 5 inches at the summit.

Bogus didn't receive any measurable snow, but the rain could help with a nice base once the flakes start flying in the Foothills.

Of course, the first snow of the season comes just in time for Boise Weekly's annual Snow issue, which will hit stands on Nov. 3, filled to the brim with all sorts of useful tips for navigating the winter.
