The boys were back in town Tuesday night at the Toronto International Film Festival. Canadian natives Ryan Reynolds and Keanu Reeves both debuted new films, both with a lot of action. But it was a Jersey boy who created all the heat last night. Move over De Niro. The Boss has shown up at TIFF.
Reynolds stars in a thriller, Buried, where he is quite simply buried alive through the whole movie. Reeves stars in Henry’s Crime, a young man who decides to finally rob the bank that he was falsely accused of robbing.
But Bruce Springsteen is the centerpiece of The Promise: The Making of "Darkness on the Edge of Town", a documentary chronicling the legendary 1978 album. The film includes interviews with members of the E Street Band.
The documentary is making its world premiere on the big screen at TIFF before its debut on the small screen courtesy of HBO. It will air on Thursday, Oct. 7, before it is released on a DVD as well as a newly mixed CD.
