National director of PR and social media for Melting Pot Restaurants, Sandy D’Elosua, said the closing is "a product of what's going on in the economy."
“This location has been serving the Boise community since 2004, and for a while they were doing quite well,” said “But as of late, they’ve just been struggling.”
There are currently more than 145 Melting Pot locations nationwide. D'Elosua said Boise will become an open market, meaning they’ll continue to explore other prospects, and “may be opening in the same location or in the same market, but we don’t have time frame set yet.”
Thirty-five team members, which were notified of the closing Saturday, July 31, will now be out of work. The Melting Pot is currently working with those team members to find other employment.
