"House of Art" Deadline Friday, July 16

Local artists tired of hanging their artwork on the walls of their musty, dreary studio apartments will soon have a chance to give their art a swankier, more luxurious home at the Aspen Lofts ... for one night at least.

Scott Kimball, developer of the new high-rise condos along Front Street, will open nine condos on the seventh floor to nine artists on August 5 as part of a project called "House of Art." Artists interested in exhibiting must have their applications in by Friday, July 16.

The project, which hopes to show the links between art and real estate, was devised by Steve Zabel and real estate company Urban Agent Team. Sculptors, painters, welders and artists from all mediums may apply, and a panel will select the nine artists. Treasure Valley-based artists who interested in applying need to submit a resume and five digital images of work that is approximately 10-inches by 12-inches. Selected artists will be able to sell their displayed artwork at the Lofts.

Submit materials by Friday to Steven Zabel at szabel78@gmail.com, Lindsay Dofelmier at Lindsay@urbanagentteam.com or Jen Iacoboni at jen@urbanagentteam.com
