Need Something to Do Thursday?

Once again, First Thursday is upon us. And while you could freeform wander, sucking up kiddie portions of free wine and following the scent of bulk purchased squares of Costco cheese, it's certainly not the most effective way to ensure you catch the best First Thursday has to offer.

Instead, here's some picks that you might want to include on your itinerary.

The Gallery at the Linen Building is hosting part of the third annual Modern Art event, with a fixed gear bicycle display and contest, hip-hop/breakdance/graffiti art happening, Boise State student artist exhibition and performances by Boise Rock School and TrICA Leap Troupe. The Modern Hotel will also open its rooms for artists to do their thing in, *gasp* public!

University of Idaho's Integrated Design Lab will host an Eco-House Design Competition. There will be food, beverages and several event speakers talking about the benefits and tricks of green design. The action kicks off at 6:30 p.m.

Neurolux will host the Boise Music Video Awards, in which local filmmakers will screen their videos of primarily local music in the hopes of winning glory that should last until at least last call. As far as local music and creative energy goes, this is going to be the place to be tonight. Starts at 8 p.m.

And if you prefer science to art, then you're going to want hit up the Library! at Collister, where you can learn how to build your own robot from scratch with David Gapen.
