Idaho ski area operators must have been doing a snow dance last week.

Recent storms have dumped some much-needed powder on regional resorts, including 16 inches in the last 72 hours in Sun Valley, allowing the resort to finally open all its terrain for the first time this season. The base at Baldy is now 36 inches, with a summit depth of 69 inches.

The resort is marking the mid-season snowfall with a round of mid-season specials, including an offer for any standard or medium room at the lodge or Sun Valley Inn for $109.50 per person per night, including a free lift ticket for each day you stay.

In McCall, Brundage Mountain recorded 8 inches in 72 hours, and now has a base of 48 inches with 58 inches at the summit.

But the big snow is still at Bogus, which is reporting 6 inches in the last few days, bringing the base up to 51 inches with 63 at the top.
