The Boise Bicycle Project is once again looking for a few good volunteers, this time it’s to help out with an adult refugee bike safety program.

The class will be held on Monday, Aug. 31, and Tuesday, Sept. 1, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at Ann Morrison Park. There, 75 adult refugees new to the community will learn about bicycle maintenance and bike safety.

The event is being held in conjunction with the International Rescue Committee, and interpreters will be onsite throughout the day.

The whole thing will be repeated on Saturday, Sept. 26, but this time with child refugees.
All refugees who complete the program will go home with a free pump, lock, tool kit and correctly fitted helmet, in addition to their new knowledge.

BBP is looking for as many volunteers as possible to help with the instruction. Volunteers can be of any experience level, they just need to be willing to give some time.

E-mail the BBP at boisebicycleproject@gmail.com or call 208-429-6520 to volunteer.
