Looking over the list of Alive After Five performances still remaining, I was struck by not only how great the lineup has been, and but how great it promises to be as well.
The addition of local acts has been good for Boise musicians, but has added such depth to the concert series as well additional draw to the Grove Plaza each Wednesday evening.
Tonight, Gizzard Stone opens for alt-country honky-tonking rocker Dale Watson, and BW news editor Nathaniel Hoffman will be manning the Boise Weekly booth (stop by and say hi; I'm sure he'll share his shade). The rest of the series is as follows:
Aug. 5, Red & Gray open for Ray Wylie Hubbard
Aug. 12, Hillfolk Noir opens for Juno What?
Aug. 19, Jonathan Warren opens for LoCura
Aug. 26, Finn Riggins opens for Mother Hips
Sept. 2, Mel Wade opens for Trampled by Turtles
Sept. 9, Jerry Fee opens for Tyrone Wells
Sept. 16, Bank opens for Eurforquestra
Sept. 23, The Very Most opens for These United States
Sept. 30, Thomas Paul opens for Charlie Hunter and the Record Exchange end-of-series big blowout party.
