Wonder what happens to Joan's face when she laughs?

Fashionista, funny woman and Emmy-award winning queen of plastic surgery Joan Rivers, will be on the hot seat in July (hopefully she doesn't melt) when Comedy Central presents "Comedy Central's Roast to Joan Rivers." The cable network just announced that another fan of face freshening, Kathy Griffin, has been named as Roast Master.

Taping is slated for Sunday, July 26, and the show airs Sunday, August 9, at 10 p.m. ET/PT. And if Comedy Central stays true to form, about 50 more times after that.

The 76-year-old Rivers (seriously!) first appeared on the "The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson" in the mid-60s, paving the way for outspoken female comedians like Griffin.

In the CC press release, Griffin's statement is surely an indication of what to expect: “It will be my distinct pleasure to honor a true comedy legend. The One and Only, The Great, Joan Rivers,” said Griffin. “I mean, not that Pam Anderson wasn’t a comedy legend or anything… Let’s just say it will be an evening of highs and lows. I will be roasting Joan with more gentleness and tenderness than her latest chemical peel and, on the other hand, I will give her a verbal pap smear and god only knows what I’m going to find down there.”
