Get Creative

OK all you BW readers who fancy yourselves as creative types. The deadline for the annual Fiction 101 and Bad Cartoon contests is fast approaching, so get you your pens and paper (or boot-up your computer) and get cracking.

Fiction 101 entries must be 101 words (as measured by Word, not counting the title) and can be on any subject, just no poetry. Entry fee is $10 per entry, all of which goes toward the prize money for the winners.

Winners will be chosen by a panel of judges and printed in the Jan. 7, 2009 edition of Boise Weekly.

Bad Cartoon—well the name kind of describes what it is, doesn't it. Anyone who enters must be willing to produce one cartoon per week for the next year. In exchange for the hard work, the cartoon will be published each and every week.

There's no entry fee for this one, but the hard work is worth the bragging rights.

Enter one, enter both, just enter—and do it by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 19. Just drop your entry by the BW offices, 523 Broad St., and wait for the results.
