Yesterday my mom sent me a newspaper clipping. It was a wedding announcement for Twin Falls residents James Robert Tidmarsh and Ryan Frank Jensen who were married on July 5 in South Lake Tahoe, California.
Alongside a photo of the happy couple, squeezed into a small white space, my mom wrote: "Announcement in the Statesman - we have come a LONG way!"
Amen, ma. (Now everyone knows where I get it from.)
In the coming days, I expect to see at least one letter to the Statesman's editor chastising the paper for publishing the announcement. I will, however, be sitting in my little corner of the world applauding the Statesman's staff. Even if they did get $120 out of the newlyweds for the two-column box.
Congratulations on your marriage, gentlemen. Never having had the courage to tie the knot myself, I can only offer you the good advice someone gave my sister prior to her recent wedding. Marriage is a garden, tend it.
