Or at least, his publishing company is looking at Hailey.According to this news break from the Idaho Mountain Express, Brady's Post Company in Idaho Falls is looking at joining an effort to buy the Wood River Journal in Hailey. According to our previous report, the local group hoping to buy the Wood River Journal was led by the recently formed Newsies LLC, headed by John Sofro, a Wood River Valley developer and real estate agent, who said he was approached to buy the paper after a planned purchase by the Idaho Mountain Express fell through. Updated Post Company has confirmed it was approached about purchasing the Journal, and is in discussions with Newsies LLC. Roger Plothow, vice president of the Post Company and the editor and publisher of the Idaho Falls Post Register, told BW that no one's ready to say anything beyond that.
The Post Register, Post Publication's flagship paper, has a combined print and paid-online circulation of 27,000. The company also owns three small weeklies, the Challis Messenger, the Shelley Pioneer and the Jefferson Star. All three have a combined circulation of roughly 5,000.The company also publishes the weekly agriculture paper, Intermountain Farm and Ranch.
