Reef Staying Put

The owner of the popular downtown nightspots Reef and the Front Door says they’re not for sale, despite rumors to the contrary.

“We’re not selling right now,” said Dave Krick, in an interview with BW.

Krick, who also owns Bittercreek Ale House and Red Feather, has said in the past that he would eventually like to step away from the restaurant business to focus his attention on other areas of interest.

But, he added, that move is not imminent.

Shane Randel, general manager at the Front Door, said he was under the impression that both businesses were for sale, but that he did not know any details of a pending sale.

But no one else with connections to the businesses would talk to BW about the matter.

Karen Sander, executive director of the Downtown Boise Association, declined to comment on the record. So did Clay Carley, owner of C-Squared, the company which owns the building in which Reef and The Front Door are located.
