In writing about James Taylor's upcoming concert, I was mentally singing along to some of his songs. The one that pushed through to the forefront is not a James Taylor song at all, though I attributed it to him--in print. A local musician and fan of Taylor's sent me a very friendly e-mail, kindly pointing out the error of my ways. Andrew Gold wrote "Thank You For Being A Friend." The Golden Girls
had it as a theme song. None of that has anything to do with James Taylor. I wish I would have given Taylor credit for singing "You've Got a Friend." Maybe my theme song should be "You've Got an Error."
