We here at Boise Weekly
fully understand the desire to honor our countrys leaders: a statue of George Washington here, a bust of Thomas Jefferson there. But were thinking our 40th president might have been better served had someone run a spell-check.
One attentive reader recently brought it to our attention that a paving brick in Boises Capitol Park is, well, misspelled. The brick meant to honor Ronald Reagan is actually inscribed with the name Ronald Regan.
We might have been willing to dismiss this as a possible homage to a man with a strikingly similar name to that of the Great Communicator, that is if it wasnt for the title of US President 1981-1989 under the name. No mistaking who they meant.
