Next time youre stuck in traffic, consider taking a deep breath rather that cutting that guy off and speeding through a red light so you dont have to stop.
Boise Police are targeting aggressive drivers with special patrols through June 23. Since the program started just four days ago, officers have issued 150 tickets.
The department received a $25,000 grant from the Idaho Transportation Department to pay for overtime, allowing two to three more patrol officers to be on duty throughout the targeted effort. The extra police will be on duty both days and evenings, so drivers should try using some patience and manners unless they want a shiny new ticket to take home.
Patrols will specifically be looking for speeding, diving too fast for conditions, tailgating, failure to yield, passing stop signs and running lights. Additionally, officers will be on the look out for seat belt and child safety restraint violations.
