Mayor Dave Bieter kicks off his re-election campaign officially tomorrow, although he's been steadily fundraising all spring (Did we hear right that the sprinklers went off in a city park in the middle of one of those?).
And although BW
will be covering the campaign (read this week's BW
for more), we think he went too far with one campaign flier.
Tucked into the background of his postcard is a picture of the Basque blocks, where Bieter's campaign kickoff party is scheduled to occur.
And in that picture, in the background, is a Boise Weekly
banner, hanging over the railing of the Bardenay patio.
Most likely, the banner was there to mark the location of a Martini Mix-Off
competition, not our endorsement of any sort for a candidate. We're unabashedly for martinis, but we haven't yet settled on a horse for the mayor's race. Bieter will face Boise City Councilman Jim Tibbs
