UPDATE: Several People Arrested at Scene of Early Morning Boise Fire

Boise Police report that that they assisted Boise firefighters early Monday morning following a report of a car fire which threatened a home on the 1700 block of North Cole Road.

Police said flames reached 10- to 15-feet high when they arrived on the scene. Additionally, police said that a fight was in progress nearly the doorway of the residence, and a 16-year-old male punched a police officer. A second officer was also hit by one of several individuals involved in the melee. More officers were dispatched to the scene while firefighters evacuated the home and put out the fire. 

In total, approximately one dozen people were at the home at the time of the incident. The cause of the fire is suspicious and under investigation.

Four minors—a 16-year-old male from Boise, a 17-year-old female from Boise, a 17-year-old male from Homedale and a 17-year-old male from Nampa—were all taken into custody. 



Additionally, 40-year-old Valeria Madrid of Boise, 18-year-old Denyse Madrid of Boise and 19-year-old Amelia Torres of Nampa were all charged with a felony count of battery on a law enforcement officer. 19-year-old Adalina Torres of Nampa was charged with resisting and obstructing officers. Madid and the two Torres suspects were also charged with being a minor in possession of alcohol.

Details are still coming in piecemeal, but Boise Police and Fire are investigating an early morning car fire that quickly spread to a home on North Cole Road near Fairview Avenue. As the blaze lit up the pre-dawn sky, several people were taken into custody, but no official word has been released on their status.

Additionally, a man inside the home was treated for minor injuries. Fire and police crews were summoned to the 1700 block of North Cole Road at around 4:30 this morning. No word yet on the cause of the fire or if any arrests have been made in connection with the incident.

And in the early morning hours of Sunday, April 4, a separate incident involving a vehicle sent another man to the hospital. Boise Police said a car crashed into a side wall at a Popeyes restaurant on the 8800 block of Fairview Avenue. Police said the driver was distracted before crashing his car into the building, sending the driver to a local hospital for non life-threatening injuries.
