Idaho State Police report that two people were killed in a bad two vehicle collision Saturday night.
The crash occurred at the intersection of Homedale Road and S. 10th Avenue, near Caldwell, after a Honda Accord travelling eastbound on Homedale, failed to yield to a stop sign. The Honda struck a Ford F250 pickup traveling southbound on S. 10th.
ISP say the driver of the Honda and a passenger died of injuries at the scene. The driver was identified as 19-year-old Marco Rivera of Nampa and the deceased passenger was identified as 19-year-old Steven Gutierrez of Caldwell. Another passenger in the Honda was transported to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise. None of the occupants of the Honda were wearing seatbelts.
The driver of the pickup and a juvenile passenger were not injured in spite of the fact that the pickup landed on its side. Police say both of the pickup's occupants were wearing seatbelts.
