A Boise man has been sentenced to 10 years of supervised probation for harassing a group of Iraqi students in November, the Associated Press
Brian Olson, 42, was charged with malicious harassment and failure to appear
in early November, 2014. That's when three students reported that Olson verbally accosted them near Lucky Peak Reservoir, tearing a necklace from the neck of one of the victims and knocking a can of soda from the hand of another. Victims also reported Olson grabbed one of them by the collar, asking if he could swim, and rummaged through their car.
Ada County Sheriff's deputies arrested Olson after the boys reported the incident to a student resource officer at Boise High School.
At a sentencing hearing the morning of Friday, Feb. 13, 4th District Court Judge Samuel Hoagland
questioned Olson's apology before sentencing him to 10 years of supervised probation.
