The Ada County coroner has identified Matthew Bacon, 29, of Boise, as the victim of a fatal Feb. 4 motorcycle crash.

Boise police say Bacon was wearing a helmet while riding his motorcycle westbound on Camas Street near Cole Road. Investigators said it appeared that Bacon crossed over a speed bump just before colliding with a dog and then crashing into a parked vehicle. Bacon was dead at the scene.

Eyewitnesses told police that the owner of the dog, which was not on a leash at the time of the crash, rushed the animal to a veterinarian but the dog died a short time later.
