An elderly couple reported missing Feb. 4 were located unharmed after a night spent in their car in a remote area of Elmore County.

Boise police reported that husband and wife Walter Rich, 88, and Virginia Taylor, 91, of Boise, were found by members of Idaho Mountain Search and Rescue on a road where they had stayed overnight and throughout the day on Feb. 5.

Rich and Taylor are fond of taking long drives, and also went missing in May 2014 when they got stuck on a back country road in Boise County.

The search included teams from sheriff's offices in Ada and Elmore counties, as well as the Boise Police Department and Idaho Mountain Search and Rescue.

"We are very happy the pair has been found safe and well. A lot of us were concerned and a lot of effort went into the search efforts today," Sgt. Mark Barnett, of the Boise Police Criminal Investigation Division, stated in a news release. "We'll be happy to work with the family to do anything we can to help keep the pair safe in the future,"
