Mountain Home police reported this morning that an unnamed 38-year-old woman died from a gunshot wound at a residence located off of Rockridge Drive the night of Feb. 3.
According to a news release, police responded to the residence after a report of a shooting at about 11:45 p.m. The woman was found by officers in the garage where she was unresponsive, not breathing and bleeding profusely from her abdominal area.
Mountain Home police were informed that the woman was talking "on the phone with a relative attempting to clean a gun when the shooting occurred," according to the release.
After officers administered life saving measures at the scene, the woman was transported to St. Luke's Elmore where she died from her injuries.
No foul play is suspected and details will be released as the investigation continues.
