A Boise man is behind bars, charged with a felony after allegedly threatening a North Boise resident who said he tried to stop the suspect from breaking into his car.

Boise Police said they were called to an alley near State and 32nd streets early this morning. That's where a man told police that he had spotted a man trying to break into his vehicle. But when he approached the alleged burglary, the victim said the suspect confronted him with a knife. The two got into a brief fight but the victim said the suspect eventually walked away. Police said they caught up with the suspect about one block from the scene.

37-year-old David Scales of Boise was booked into the Ada County Jail on a charge of aggravated burglary.

Boise Police also report that they took a Boise woman into custody in the evening hours of Jan. 25 after a warrant was issued for her arrest for allegedly making fraudulent charges on an account belonging to an elderly victim. Detectives identified the suspect as a former caretaker of the elderly victim.

33-year-old Kari Lynn Hall, aka Reeves, of Boise was charged with two felonies: grand theft and criminal possession of a financial transaction card.
