While the McCall Winter Carnival will be going full tilt, on Saturday, Jan. 31, the latest round of auctions of state-owned McCall lots on Payette Lake will be happening in Boise. The 35 lots, 29 of which are currently leased and have cabins on them, are valued at approximately $14.4 million in total. The auction will be for the land only: The winning bidder must pay the lessee the appraised value at the time of the auction of the home and personal property on the land.

To date, Idaho has auctioned off 95 of the 534 cottage site lots at Payette Lake and Priest Lake in Coeur d'Alene. The Idaho Constitution requires a public auction for the sale of endowment lands managed by the State Board of Land Commissioners (Land Board) and Idaho Dept. of Lands. The Land Board previously voted to sell the lots over time instead of continuing to lease them.

The auction starts at 1 p.m. at the Riverside Hotel on Chinden Boulevard in Boise. Detailed information about the individual lots is available at this link.
