Students at staff at Boise's Washington Elementary School on 15th Street in Boise's North End have been evacuated to nearby North Junior High School Tuesday morning.

Boise school officials said a suspected gas leak at Washington Elementary was to blame. Students and staff were moved over to North Junior High's cafeteria at approximately 10 a.m.

Dr. Ann Farris, area director for the Boise School District, said Intermountain Gas was currently investigating the source of the suspected leak and officials were hoping to return students and staff to Washington as soon as they get the all-clear.
