The Boise School Board is one step closer to choosing the replacement for Joan Boren, who resigned abruptly in October 2014.
Members of the Boise Independent School Board of Trustees interviewed 13 applicants on Jan. 7 and narrowed the field down to six finalists:
Wendy St. Michell
All six will be interviewed one last time on Friday, Jan. 9, and trustees will take a formal vote during their regular public monthly meeting on Monday, Jan. 12, at district headquarters.
When Boren submitted her resignation last October
, she wrote she no longer was "willing to be a part of a board that surrenders its responsibilities to provide oversight and governance on behalf of citizens and taxpayers."
Boren's replacement will fill her term, which runs through 2016.
