Video: 100,000 Gallons of Sewage Pour Into Hayden Streets

Emergency crews in northern Idaho spent a good part of their New Year's Day cleaning up a huge mess in the Kootenai County community of Hayden.  That's where nearly 100,000 gallons of raw sewage filled the streets after a pipe burst.

KHQ-TV reports that traffic needed to be rerouted around the scene for nine hours while crews contained the spill and disinfected the streets. Meanwhile officials with the regional sewer board said they'll be talking today to experts to determine if there are any big impacts to groundwater or nearby wells.
