Boise Prepares for 2015 New Year's Eve Idaho Potato Drop

by

What's big, brown and will fall from the sky this evening?

Downtown Boise is upended over the midnight descent of a Subaru-sized potato in the Grove: Barricades and stages are being installed, cranes are in place, and traffic is being blocked off in the downtown core. It's all in preparation for a massive New Year's Eve festival that begins at 8 p.m. and runs through, well, the wee hours of 2015, with music on three stages, throngs of people and, of course, the dropping of a massive tuber for which Idaho is rightly famous.

For a complete list of events, check this week's edition of Boise Weekly, on stands now.
