Anxious Moments for Local Family When Skier Goes Missing on Christmas Day Ski Trip to Bogus Basin.

A Nampa family had a Christmas scare when one of their own went missing Thursday during a ski trip to Bogus Basin Mountain Recreation Area.

Remington Kendall, 30, was officially reported missing when he didn't show up for his family's Christmas dinner late Thursday afternoon. That's when the family contacted the Ada County Sheriff's Office. Law enforcement later found Kendall's car in the Bogus Basin parking lot, triggering a search of the mountain.

The family was just about ready to call off the search, due to darkness, when Kendall was spotted on the mountain by a grooming machine operator. He was safe and uninjured.

Law enforcement said Kendall had gone off course on Bogus, but used the light from his cellphone to signal for help.
