UPDATE: Boise Man Identified as Victim of Fatal Hit-and-Run

The Ada County Coroner has identified the victim of a fatal hit-and-run accident in the early morning hours of December 21st as 66-year-old John Perkins of Boise. The coroner said Perkins died of blunt force trauma following the collision. 

Perkins was reportedly crossing Orchard Street when witnesses said he was struck by a pick-up truck. The vehicle is identified as a dark colored lifted pick-up with a long bed, off-road lights on top and a loud exhaust.

Boise police are looking for the driver in an early-morning Sunday hit-and-run that killed a pedestrian.

Police were called to the scene of the intersection of South Orchard and West Kootenai streets. That's where several witnesses said a pick-up truck traveling southbound on Orchard and turning west on Kootenai struck a pedestrian who was walking across Orchard Street. Witnesses said the truck never stopped and was last seen headed westbound on Kootenai.

The vehicle is described a dark-colored, lifted pick-up with a long bed, off-road lights on the cab and a loud exhaust.
