North Idaho Child in Critical Condition After Near-Drowning in Hotel Pool

A North Idaho child is fighting for his life after nearly drowning in a Coeur d'Alene hotel pool.

KHQ-TV is reporting that emergency responders rushed to the scene of a pool at the Spring Hill Suites hotel Friday after a 7-year-old boy was pulled from the water by his father and 12-year-old brother. According to reports, the child had been swimming in the deep end of the pool with his brother but didn't come up for air.

A hotel guest who was a trained EMT performed CPR along with the father until help arrived.

The boy was transferred by helicopter to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, Wash., where he remains in critical condition.
