One Last Cup of Coffee (and Cinnamon Roll): Raedean's is Closing

Raedeans, which has poured untold cups of coffee and served up thousands of cinnamon rolls for 31 Christmas Eves, will be closing the doors of its Boise restaurant for good this Dec. 24.

Owners of the iconic eatery on West Overland Road say they've struck a deal to sell their land and property to the Primary Health Medical Group, which has designs for a medical building on the site. Employees—there are nearly three dozen—were notified of the closure a month ago, and while many of them have secured other jobs, they'll be serving all-day breakfasts right up until Christmas Eve.

Owners Jim and Nancy Spanberger say they'll sell off their restaurant's equipment, dishware, silverware, tables and light fixtures in a public sale on Friday, Dec. 26.

Raedean's has been a regular fixture in Boise Weekly's Best of Boise honors.

And for the record, some of this writer's favorite political interviews took place over a cup of Raedean's coffee.
