New Federal Charges Filed Against Boise Terrorism Suspect

Federal prosecutors have added new charges against an Uzbekistan national already awaiting trail on terrorism-related charges following his 2013 arrest.

It was May of 2013 when FBI agents raided the Boise apartment of Fazliddin Kurbanov after law enforcement said the suspect conspired to use a weapon of mass destruction and made regular shopping trips to purchase bomb-making materials.

And now Kurbanov faces new charges of attempting to support terrorist activities and possessing an unregistered explosive device.

The 31-year-old Kurbanov has pleaded not guilty to the charges and his federal trial is now slated to begin Feb. 9, 2015. He remains in federal custody.
