Video: Sun Valley Opens For Season, Bogus and Brundage Praying for Snow

More than a few Wood River Valley residents and visitors spent a good chunk of their Thanksgiving on the slopes as Sun Valley Resort launched its 79th winter season for skiers and snowboarders. Sun Valley opened 14 of its runs on Thursday, including Upper College, Lower College, Mid River, Lower River, Upper Canyon, Lower Canyon, Round and the Quarter Dollar runs. Lift tickets are at early season rates.

Brundage Resort is still planning to have limited service, opening the beginner's chairlift, on Saturday, Nov.  29, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. In preparation for Saturday's mini-opening, Brundage will host its annual Pray for Snow party in downtown McCall tonight.

Meanwhile, the folks up on Bogus Basin are still keeping their fingers crossed, with only 10 inches of snow at the base. The good news is that more snow is expected on the mountain tonight, Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.
