The spirit of Thanksgiving was certainly not on the mind of one motorist in North-Central Idaho on Thursday, and now police are looking for the driver who sped off after hitting a pedestrian and leaving her in serious condition.
This morning's Lewiston Tribune reports
that the incident occurred at approximately 4:40 p.m. Thursday in the 1500 block of Main Street in Lewiston. That's where one vehicle had stopped to allow a 39-year-old woman to cross the street, but another vehicle didn't stop and struck the woman. According to a witness, the driver of the vehicle got out of the car, looked at the woman lying on the ground and then got back in the vehicle and left the scene. The vehicle was described as a white Yukon or Trailblazer.
Meanwhile, the victim was rushed to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, where she was treated for head injuries, a broken arm and broken pelvis.
Anyone with information is asked to call Lewiston Police at 208-746-0171.
