Meridian Police say what started out as a vehicle traveling the wrong way near Franklin Road triggered a high-speed chase Wednesday night. Before long, Meridian Police were assisted by officers from the Boise Police Department, Idaho State Police, the Ada County Sheriff's Office and the Canyon County Sheriff's Office.
Ultimately, spike strips were used to slow down the vehicle, forcing the driver to crash into a field near Star Road. Speeds had topped 100 mph.
A man and woman were taken into custody and it turns out that both were the targets of warrants for parole violations.
Thayer Colton, 25, of Boise was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance, eluding police and parole violation. He was also charged with DUI and driving without privileges. Cleverly Jade, 25, of Boise was charged with felony counts of a controlled substance violation and parole violation. They're both scheduled for court dates on Friday, Nov. 28
