Huge Boise Fire Destroys Five Businesses at Broadway Strip Mall, No Injuries

Investigators and and a number of Boise firefighters are spending their Thanksgiving the same way they spent Wednesday night, at the scene of a massive fire that lit up Broadway Avenue, requiring first responders to battle the blaze throughout the evening of Nov. 26. It was 1 a.m. on Thanksgiving morning before fire officials tweeted out: "Fire under control. Overhaul in progress. Releasing units from the scene." And at sunrise, BFD tweeted out: "Investigators back on scene this morning. Cause will be determined ... once investigation is complete."

Seven business were damaged, five of them destroyed, by the fire at the strip mall on the 2100 block of Broadway. An employee of a salon at the strip mall called in the fire shortly after 10 p.m. Wednesday.

The very good news is that there were no firefighter or civilian injuries and responders made quick work of evacuations.
