Local law enforcement is on the alert and is asking for the public's help in finding a man they suspect may have been involved in the attempted kidnapping of a 14-year-old boy near Eagle Island State Park on Nov. 15.
Eagle Police confirm that the boy, from Washington State, was in the area to participate in a cross-country competition and told authorities that a man in a red pickup truck offered to give him a ride to Eagle Island State Park (the boy had run a good distance away from the park). But when the boy got in the truck, the driver reportedly drove away from the park and told the boy to shut up when he protested. The boy told police he jumped out of the truck, found a nearby resident in the Banbury subdivision and called authorities.
The driver was described as a white male, approximately 30-40 years old with a scruffy beard. The vehicle was described as a red four-door pickup with a metal toolbox.Anyone with information is asked to call the Ada County Dispatch at 208-377-6790.
