Video: Police Need Public's Help in Investigation of Lewiston Woman's Murder


Law enforcement in the border cities of Lewiston and Clarkston, Wash., are still trying to piece together clues n the murder of a Lewiston woman who was found dead Nov. 7.

Claire Richardson, 69, was reportedly last seen in the downtown Lewiston area at approximately 5:30 p.m on Nov 6. Her body was discovered the following morning in Clarkston, near Beachview Park, which runs along the Snake River. 

KLEW-TV reports that Clarkston police are looking for the driver of a white pick-up that may have information regarding the incident. Police said the driver was not a suspect but may have crucial information regarding the case.

Meanwhile, 53-year-old Bisir Muhammad is being held at the Asotin County Jail, charged with rape and murder in connection with the death of Richardson. He's being held on $1 million bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Monday, Nov. 17. But prosecutors are still looking for more evidence in the case.

"The investigation continues,” Clarkston Police Chief Joel Hastings told KLEW-TV. ”We continue to follow up on leads and gather more information and the case is strengthening even today."
