A Sun Valley Planning and Zoning commissioner has been blocked from becoming a Sun Valley City councilman.
In late October, two Sun Valley Council members said it would be "inappropriate"
for Jake Provonsha to come on board the Council as they considered a new comprehensive plan. Provonsha had been nominated to the Council by Sun Valley Mayor Dewayne Briscoe, but Council members Michelle Griffith and Peter Hendricks said Provonsha had direct involvement with crafting the comprehensive plan.
And now, this morning's Idaho Mountain Express reports
that the Council voted 2-1 to reject Provonsha. Griffiths said land-use decisions would first have gone through P&Z and if Provonsha were to rescue himself before every land-use discussion, there would be a problem getting a quorum to vote.
Now, another candidate is expected to be nominated at the Sun Valley Council's next meeting, set for Thursday, Dec. 4.
