Cold, Then Colder, Then Snow

The nation's Midwest is getting smacked by a considerable band of snow Sunday, which will stretch to the East Coast by Monday and Tuesday. Pushing that taste of winter is a major low pressure system that swept into Central and Eastern Idaho Sunday.

But that's just an appetizer. Snow and bitterly cold air will be brought in by a second storm Monday night and Tuesday.

In the Boise area, Sunday's temperatures in the mid 60s will drop 20 degrees by Tuesday, which should see highs in the low 40s and overnight lows in the 20s. By Thursday and Friday, snow showers are expected in the valley and significant snowfall should be reported in Idaho's mountain communities.

Eastern Idaho should really feel the punch. Lows are expected in the single digits later this week.
